The History of Walton Plastics
Walton Plastics was incorporated in 1980 by Roger Walton, the son of Albert Walton who by trade was a lead burner. Born in the UK, Albert Walton was sent to Germany by his employer Chemical Pipe and Vessel as an exchange employee to learn plastic fabrication. In 1954, Albert and his family emigrated to Australia where he started work at Cresco Fertilisers (CSBP), as a lead burner.
In 1957 Albert decided to go alone and start Plastics Fabrication W.A. and formed The Chemical Welding Co. He did it tough in these years, having to purchase all his materials direct from Germany.
Within two and a half years he sold out to H.L. Brisbane & Wunderlich, who also acquired Lusterite Plastics, the two industries were combined under the name of Lusterite Plastics, a division of Brisbane & Wunderlich.
In 1960, Roger Walton started as a trainee fabricator at Lusterlite Plastics. Albert Walton retired in 1973, Roger Walton then took the reins of the fabrication section managing sales, design estimating, until 1980. With 20 years experience Roger left Bristile Plastics and formed Walton Plastics Engineering.
